  1. I think that Wolf Cleugh Farm, near Rookhope in Weardale, Co Durham, was abandoned in the 1960's (the fireplace looks late 1940's/early 1950's).
Even in its now in a very ruinous state, there is a haunting connection to those who once lived within these walls.
The former farmstead is also tied in with the area's lead mining past.
In the late 19th century and early 20th century, the property was occupied by the Roddam families, with George Roddam living here with his wife Annie, working as a shepherd and his sons working in the nearby lead mines.
The Roddam's would later move further down the valley to Daddry Shield and I have not as yet been able to find out who last occupied the property.
It certainly looks like quite a while since the last time a fire was lit and someone was cosily tucked up in bed in this room!

  3. The Vault

This is an old tunnel under a rail line turned bike path (Oak Leaf Trail) along the east bank of the Milwaukee River in the Cambridge Woods neighborhood of Milwaukee. Build around 1880 when the Northwestern Union Railway built the line, it ends abruptly 60 feet inside the entrance.

The (not) #AlienLab was demolished in 2018, replacing it with a frickin' parking lot! 😠

I'm glad I got to explore this interesting building, and its basement, before it was removed. I even got to record two videos from my visits.

⬥ Video from 2016-07-08: youtube.com/watch?v=mZLdWyYwCb (with mood music, sorry)

⬥ Video from 2016-12-10: youtube.com/watch?v=7YBSH_vVPR (night-time trespassing; entering building at the 2 minute mark)

    End of thread!

Exploring the #AlienLab further, I went into the building and found my way down several stairs and into a testing chamber of sort. This underground room had big foam spikes on the walls, the floor, and the ceiling. An anechoic chamber!

Entering the building had blocked my mobile network, but even my Bluetooth headphones stopped working in this room. Sound was suppressed and my eardrums felt weird (like a lack of pressure).

In April of 2016 I took a closer look at the so-called #AlienLab and it turned out that there apparently had been a fire in the alien lab; though whether this was before or after it was abandoned, I don't know. At the time I couldn't seem to find any information about what the place actually was, so I had fun with the idea that it was a top secret governmental alien lab where one of the alien test subjects escaped in a fire.

  10. Back in 2016 I found out that close to where I live there was an abandoned building with a special look to it. Some locals referred to it as the #AlienLab - and I can see why.

Here's a small thread of my exploration of this interesting building, with a bit of a surprise of the giant spiked chamber in the basement. Also, there is an explanation behind it all.
