The (not) #AlienLab was demolished in 2018, replacing it with a frickin' parking lot! 😠
I'm glad I got to explore this interesting building, and its basement, before it was removed. I even got to record two videos from my visits.
⬥ Video from 2016-07-08: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZLdWyYwCbE (with mood music, sorry)
⬥ Video from 2016-12-10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YBSH_vVPR4 (night-time trespassing; entering building at the 2 minute mark)
End of thread!

Jan's #AlienLab quote continued:
"EU regulation meant that the individual manufacturers were allowed to "self-certify", effectively making the lab irrelevant. #ShatteringsIllusions"So, indeed a governmental testing lab - just not related to aliens, but to cellphones. Btw, I don't think I have to comment on leaving it up to private companies to them themselves assess whether their products abide by regulations or not. 😕
(Side note: Jan, you are missed. 😢)

After I shared the #AlienLab on Google+, fellow local Jan Ullerup chimed in with an explanation:
"It was indeed a lab. It was a "radiation-free-zone" - specifically designed to block electromagnetic radiation to leak inside. It was originally state-owned, but when the telecom industry was privatized it was handed over to TDC, who have continued to operate in until around 2002. It was mostly used to test whether new cellphones and other transmission equipment met regulations..."

Exploring the #AlienLab further, I went into the building and found my way down several stairs and into a testing chamber of sort. This underground room had big foam spikes on the walls, the floor, and the ceiling. An anechoic chamber!
Entering the building had blocked my mobile network, but even my Bluetooth headphones stopped working in this room. Sound was suppressed and my eardrums felt weird (like a lack of pressure).

In April of 2016 I took a closer look at the so-called #AlienLab and it turned out that there apparently had been a fire in the alien lab; though whether this was before or after it was abandoned, I don't know. At the time I couldn't seem to find any information about what the place actually was, so I had fun with the idea that it was a top secret governmental alien lab where one of the alien test subjects escaped in a fire.

Back in 2016 I found out that close to where I live there was an abandoned building with a special look to it. Some locals referred to it as the #AlienLab - and I can see why.
Here's a small thread of my exploration of this interesting building, with a bit of a surprise of the giant spiked chamber in the basement. Also, there is an explanation behind it all.
