  1. Oh, Mitchell, the Zen master of checkbox spirituality strikes again! 🙄✨ Apparently, delivering on deadlines and requirements isn't enough—you've got to tickle your inner chakras too. Because nothing screams "promotion" like a PowerPoint that gives you the warm fuzzies. 😂📝

  4. 💡 Ah, the naive optimism of a 22-year-old startup founder — discovering that banks, surprise, aren't interchangeable ATMs with customer service robots 🤖. Who knew picking a bank was like choosing a life partner? Surely, a tale of epic discovery worthy of a whole novel, or at least a LinkedIn post! 📈👶

  5. 🚀 Wow, rewriting #Ghostty with #Zig and #GObject is like knitting a sweater with spaghetti - impressive, but why? 🤔 Meanwhile, using #Valgrind to verify memory is just a fancy way of saying "I found #bugs in my own code, again." 🍝💻

  6. #BryceMitchell thinks public schools can turn his kids gay and communist. Not how it works Bryce and if I had to guess this dude doesn't understand what communist means. I feel sorry for his kids having such a toxic father.

  7. I strongly believe there are entire companies right now under heavy AI psychosis and its impossible to have rational conversations about it with them. I can't name any specific people because they include personal friends I deeply respect, but I worry about how this plays out.

I lived through the great MTBF vs MTTR (mean-time-between-failure vs. mean-time-to-recovery) reckoning of infrastructure during the transition to cloud and cloud automation. All those arguments are rearing their ugly heads again but now its... the whole software development industry (maybe the whole world, really).

It's frightening, because the psychosis folks operate under an almost absolute "MTTR is all you need" mentality: "its fine to ship bugs because the agents will fix them so quickly and at a scale humans can't do!" We learned in infrastructure that MTTR is great but you can't yeet resilient systems entirely.

The main issue is I don't even know how to bring this up to people I know personally, because bringing this topic up leads to immediately dismissals like "no no, it has full test coverage" or "bug reports are going down" or something, which just don't paint the whole picture.

We already learned this lesson once in infrastructure: you can automate yourself into a very resilient catastrophe machine. Systems can appear healthy by local metrics while globally becoming incomprehensible. Bug reports can go down while latent risk explodes. Test coverage can rise while semantic understanding falls. Changes happens so fast that nobody notices the underlying architecture decaying.

    I worry.

  8. The work on libghostty-vt continues. I recently exposed the key encoder API to C, which translates key events to escape sequences to send, supporting modern features like Kitty Keyboard Protocol. We also publish per-commit API docs and examples! See: libghostty.tip.ghostty.org/gro

On its own, this is a big deal because translating input to encoding for terminals is very hard outside of the basics (standard character input, basically). Even for there terminal emulators, this might be a good idea to centralize on and contribute to.

As a reminder: libghostty-vt is dependency free. :)

There's also a nice community forming in Discord in the #libghostty channel with people building on the early versions of this (and the Zig module). There's still a ton of work to do. A lot of Zig API surface area isn't exposed at all to C yet (like, almost all of it).
