On a serious note - you will not find a better local development solution! If you are into #LAMP #LEMP stack then this should be your local development environment.
It officially supports #WordPress #Drupal #Typo3 and many more. Well, any PHP application should just work!

So, um, it looks to me like Dev Containers (https://containers.dev/) are, like, Lando and DDev, but more standard? Am I following that right?
Because I've already got a fairly well tuned straight Docker Compose setup for my dev that seems fine...? Why would I want this?

Didn't expect my @atuin wrapped to have the most excellent @ddev as my most used CLI command.
However, when I think about it, this year I was working on major upgrades to a WP-CLI integration, and did a lot of testing that involved running `ddev wp ...`. That'll no doubt account for a good few thousand over the usual bringing up and managing Ddev instances a few times a week. -

Built a website for my partner over the weekend using Kirby CMS (@getkirby), DDEV (@ddev), Unpoly and Tailwind CSS.
I am a big fan of Craft CMS, but Kirby is just even more fun to use and tinker with.
Just dealing with files and no DB is not just quick and flexible, it also gives you a full overview at all time. No hunting for config problems or content in DB tables. Just plain files, easily searchable. Love it.

I am now almost one month exclusively working with #DDEV and #OrbStack on my M3 Max and I could not be happier.
No #homebrew madness, no #laravelvalet or #laravelherd. Just a bunch of self contained project folders.
Once a project is done I can easily remove the vendor, node modules and caches, due to a custom archive command I created.
Startup and excecution times are fast and I do not see any big CPU usage either.
All around a very good tool for developing on a #MacBookProM3!

@outofcontrol This time it was a ludicrous behaviour when setting up #DDEV and #PhpCSFixer within #docker with "external tools". Phpstorm only excepted one single setting after each other and I had to restart the software after each setting so that Phpstorm would find config files in the docker container. After clearing the cache everything worked as expected.

Am Schluss setzen wir gemeinsam ein lokales WordPress in einem beliebigen Ordner auf, mit gültigem TLS-Zertifikat und Mailpit. In zehn Minuten von Null auf produktiv.
