The PinePower V2 is a 165W desktop power supply with a lot of features... but the current batch of units has an unfixable error that displays 0V output when charging under some circumstances. It'll be fixed in the next batch. https://social.treehouse.systems/@pine64/116560984107305359 #Pine64 #PinePowerV2 #PinePower

For a while, I had a #PineTime watch. It worked... fine, but there were definite limitations.
The charger stopped reliably charging it and I couldn't get it to sync back up to my phone.
That kind of killed my interest in smart watches in general and in #Pine64 specifically.
It seems like Pine decided that what they had was good enough and they haven't really worked to improve anything since. Their webpage is still copyrighted 2022.

I am 🤏 this close to declaring #pine64 a scam. It's fine they are selling ancient stock (which they didn't keep well, there are water-like marks on the USB hub they send along the phone); but they should at least keep the crucial parts working. My plan was to keep the pinephone connected to hotspot of my main phone and build some Linux apps instead of supporting the Oligarch platforms with more tools; without wifi it is next to useless.
I guess I can make it a weak server; but I have several rescued devices powering my homelab already. :sad_panda:

#pine64 support seem to be trolling me. I reported that wifi chip stopped working within ~15 minutes, and their response so far has been:
- Gaslight me and try to convince me there is no problem
- Try to convince me my phone wasn't charged enough for wifi+bt chip to work.
- Try to convince me that even though battery is charged, it doesn't have "enough voltage" just for this one chip while everything else works
It is almost as if they just want me to go away and stop complaining.

Final take for PineTab-V for this experiment with Gentoo.
No web browser seems to compile, there's an error due to RISC-V architecture.
CPU is not fully optimized for this Tablet, since it is an experimental Tablet, there's plenty of room to improve it and enable hardware accelaration on Mesa.
Core GNOME applications work out of the box, if you want a tablet for office operations this is a great Tablet for it. -

How good is the PineTab2? I've been reading up a little on the Pine64 forums. I have had a PinePhone for a few years now so I have some experience with Pine64 devices.
From what I can gather, for the default OS there have been issues with Bluetooth and Wifi. How stable/usable is the default OS?
I am interested in using mobian/Phosh on the device as that is what I am most familiar with.
Are there any particular gotchas with mobian on the PineTab2?

Je mrtvý, Dejve.
Pinebook Pro vypadá, že po 6 letech už má dost. Během rutinního rebootu se neprobudil 😔 -
