1.) The story is set in New York City, 1989-????.
2.) I've had the main story beats in my notes for almost a decade(!), but have just been waiting to actually write the story for many different reasons. Recently figured it was now or never, just in time to find out about the #vellys.
3.) The main character/narrator (Reggie) looks like a cross between my dad, my uncle, and a third person who will remain a secret.

So, thanks to its 3rd person mode a deep discount, I've begun playing #ResidentEvilVillage. I can't watch the cutscenes directly, unfortunately, because they're still in 1st person. However, if I don't look directly at the screen, I can still get the gist.

My feeling of the day is that Shinji Mikami-created games always have better titles in his native land. Sure, #ResidentEvil is a fine enough title for the first half of the first and fourth games (and maybe the eighth--haven't played it), but #Biohazard works for every entry AND sounds cooler. #TheEvilWithin is a pretty generic title for a pretty good game, but #Psychobreak? Way cooler sounding and very fitting.

I'm gonna go ahead and make this a thread of different #music I wrote for "WHITE LIGHT", because I think it would be nice to have them somewhere other than the #DreamsPS4 ecosystem.
I first wrote this track for a book ad, but shelved it. When I got 'DREAMS', I used it to learn the music tools. Again, I'd like to mix it better, but, you know...deaf. When I did the arrangement, I was thinking of old anime scores.

So, I started and stopped playing #ControlRemedy the other day. I liked what I played (just the opening, for the second time), but decided I should play #AlanWake first (the original--I know I'm way, way late).
My verdict? It's pretty dated, but I loved it anyway. Should hold me off long enough to be able to get some form of current-gen hardware and play the sequel (which is what I really wanted to be playing, because it looks fucking bonkers).
On to #TheEvilWithin2!

Yes, but those designs are unfortunately trapped on the hard drive of a computer I can't get to boot up anymore. However, I have also used Dreams (#DreamsPS4, #MadeInDreams) to create some of the spaces, and here are a couple of the ones I'm comfortable showing off.
Clockwise: Brownstone (top floor), child Elizabeth's room, adult Elizabeth's sunroom, and Reggie's main apartment.

I was busy earlier and forgot to mention that tonight's (now, really, last night's, but I'm still awake so...) movie was #PetSemataryBloodlines. Frankly speaking, I feel like it's the best movie set in that universe. Even though its story gets a brief expository description in the original story, it still manages to stay intriguing (and, at times, unsettling) throughout. I didn't really expect much going in, but it was worth a watch.

The #SeparateWays add-on for #ResidentEvil4 is pretty fucking great. For the first time ever, Wesker doesn't sound clownish to me. He actually just sounds like a bad guy.
Also, he's SUPER fun in Mercenaries.

#WritingWonders 8.04: Pics of SCs
I have quite a lot of visual materials for my SCs, but for this post, I'm just going to focus on my two favorites: Aaron Robinson (who has been the subject of the last few WW prompts) and Maryanne Harper (who I've mentioned in months past).
I'll post a piece of concept art and a model made in #unrealengine's #MetaHuman for each. I did the illustrations in 2017 or so, and the models are form 2021 (Maryanne) and 2022 (Aaron).

There were a lot of hiccups along the way, & lots of iteration, but I'll forever be proud of the final product and what it taught me about #gamedev. It's an hours-long story, which is quite a bit more involved than a lot of what has been #MadeInDreams, but if that isn't a deterrent, I hope that you'll give it a try, if you have #DreamsPS4.

A year ago today--following 3 years of mostly solo dev time--I released my first game; The cinematic novel "WHITE LIGHT", which was 100% #MadeInDreams! I picked up a lot of new skills making it (like sculpting & animation), and I'm thankful to #MediaMolecule for giving me the tools to try my hand at long-form interactive visual entertainment.
