I'm wrapping up the slightly extended tribute week to my grumpy #SpiritAnimal Walter Matthau with yet another re-watch of the fabulous "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three".
This weeks #movies consisted of:

This story, whose word count is limited to 2k by the contest, is ballooning out of control. At this point it's looking more like 4k.
Editing is going to be awful, but I'm embracing it now. I'm even going to keep a longer version for submitting to magazines. I'm going to have to cut a lot of this wonderfully noir prose to get to 2k.#writing #writer #shortstorychallenge2026 #scifi #scifinoir #technoir #neonoir

Like "the spy who came in from the cold" "Ipcress files" , "quiller memorandum", "the third man" ,"the deadly affair", "day of the jackal" etc..
