The dramatic and sustained decline in Sauternes vineyard prices: between 1991 and 2024, prices fell by more than 90%, representing a compound annual growth rate of -7%. In contrast, over the same period, the average price of Bordeaux AOP vineyards has slightly increased and is now more than four times higher than in #Sauternes, despite a sharp decline since 2021.

Even in the oft-cited Planned Parenthood vs Casey, his decision gutted women's rights to abortion. It upheld Roe in name only. From the wiki: "Souter considered upholding all the restrictions but was uneasy about overturning Roe. After consulting with O'Connor, the three ... developed a joint opinion that *upheld all the restrictions* in Casey except the mandatory notification of a husband "

Harry Blackmun's concurrence accurately termed the #Souter-O'Connor-Kennedy joint opinion "an act of personal courage & constitutional principle," & Blackmun added that "what has happened today should serve as a model for future Justices & a warning to all who have tried to turn this Court into yet another #political branch."

On this morning, however, each of the three—first O'Connor, then Kennedy and finally #Souter—orally delivered major portions of the trio opinion. Journalists quickly realized they were witnessing an unprecedented event.

The thrilling conclusion!Open the bottle. With the damage, it didn't seem much like Sauternes any more. But the oxidized overlay didn't hurt it much. It was wonderful. As someone said at the time, "You cannot kill this wine." It is basically immortal.
Look at that baked-on gunk on the bottom. I mean, somebody must've stored this over a heater.
