  1. #stigmerge update!

    The stigmerge-peer crate has been heavily refactored into an actor-based architecture, a very CSP-like design with supervisors. i have a strong aversion to frameworks, so I implemented my own model inspired by ryhl.io/blog/actors-with-tokio/.

    I still need to implement much of that advice.. Deal with backpressure, etc. but...

    Last night I sent a file through successfully with share announcer, resolver, seeder and fetcher actors!

    Hoping for a new major version release in the next couple of weeks. It will likely be a protocol and CLI breaking change.

  2. CW: Weird Tribler issue

    Every time my Ubuntu Studio 2024 computer does a "system upgrade" and I reboot, Tribler pretends everything I've downloaded needs to be downloaded again.

    Based on context, I can mostly assume it's not actually re-downloading everything but, whatever it is doing, relies on the availability of other seeders so stuff can get hung up indefinitely if I'm the only other seeder online for it that item.

    For the bulk of what I'm seeding (example: linux mint ISOs and mediawiki zim to help provide redundancy for those projects), this isn't an issue. But Ubuntu LTS likes to do multiple "upgrades" a week so this is kind of a pain in the ass.

    I'm currently on 8.0.7 (latest stable version as of 2 minutes ago) and I'm still salty about the removal of the Desktop client.

It will be broken again.

  28. peculiar problem, #wireguard between #mikrotik #routeros and #netgate 2100 #pfsense. R->P is fully saturating the link ( 50Mbps ) while P-R is at its 1/100th ( link is 500Mbps ) and it barely does 5Mbps. Thats TCPv6. UDPv6 is only doing 1Mbps. Tests with #iperf3
