Finally found the original post to add this image.

Yes, we watch dolphins, seals and lots of bird life from 'ours'. Though the (very small) island is closed off until September for renovations of the lighthouse. She's enrobed in scaffolding just now. She made the local news this morning.
Have a lovely day.

Last night's 'mooch'... I think it was around 18.25. #WhitleyBay #StMarysLighthouse

"... stop all the cheats..." says Jill...

I don't doubt Jill thinks she is the voice of reason.
It's terrifying to me that people have such beliefs in the face of no evidence other than what is fundamentally 'gossip' (nonsense on social media or the soundbites of fascists...)
GRRR...
Meantime, a vulnerable family member is terrified of the pervading atmosphere and what potentially lies ahead.

@Dolphinchaz thank you!
We usually see them regularly around this time of year, south of you in #WhitleyBay, but they seem to prefer #Roker #Sunderland at the moment, a little further south from me. 💙

"Recovering from intercostal muscle strain requires time, patience, and proper care."
An article states it can take 5 to 6 weeks to recover. At just over 2 weeks of constant pain I am 'over it'.
I know I'm fortunate that I don't have a chronic condition, but 'knowing' it and having an experience that makes you 'feel' it are two separate things.
Resting isn't in my nature, and as a carer it's virtually impossible. The coming weeks will be 'interesting'.
Happy Friday folks!

This woman should be dismissed.
She won't be, but she should.
How dare she demonise people in this way? Where is her evidence for this assertion?
Vile, vile creature.
So much for 'change'. Kendall is piggy-backing a 'Tory mantra. The narrative needs to change, rather than fueling the 'undeserving' agenda.
What about tax avoidance/evasion? Why aren't these people demonised? 😡

@MadeyeTheCarnaptious for those at the back of the class, or who have been trying to persuade the rest of us that once he gains power things will change... Pffft...
#LabourInNameOnly #VoteLabourGetAusterity #VoteLabourGetThatcherism #VoteLabourGetTory indeed!

I want to see a realistic risk assessment.
The neoliberal IDIOTS don't give a stuff about the impact on the mental health of the vulnerable people who will suffer... The fear alone has an impact before any cuts become a reality.
Then there are those of us who are carers, also impacted by having to soothe and try to mitigate the harms.
I am F*CKING FURIOUS!

Once again, sorry for the cross-posting.

People like to think they’re voting rationally but their choices have always involved emotions. I can’t remember the title of the module but I remember taking an elective on the topic at #UniversityOfLeeds

Weather update.
The day started dreich... this is 11.40 in #WhitleyBay which is 3.38 miles from #SouthShields as the crow flies (8 miles from the #Toon / #NewcastleuponTyne).

@archaeohistories the name of the town is South Shields.

How do you know you're getting old?
I usually enjoy #SaturdayKitchen but today's screechy episode was not at all to my taste. Three 'effervescent' guests talking over each other was too much for this old gal.
-
You're absolutely right; it's completely ridiculous.
I don't understand what they hope to achieve.
You mention history, but think how many times they've had to backtrack in the last year, the backlash from #WinterFuel and #WelfareReform... It's as though they've got a death wish... Or do they really think they can push through a Trump-style state if they're just sufficiently determined?
That said, a country that voted for #Brexit, put the likes of Johnson in power...🤷🏻♀️

"The new results reinforce the findings of previous studies which found that care homes operating on a for-profit basis tend to deliver poorer care than third and public sector providers."

Well, if my health tracker is to be believed, I had 3 hours 27 minutes #sleep last night.
Exactly what I needed to face another day of caring and dealing with #UniversalCreditMigration on behalf of 'my person'.
Happy Thursday everyone. Blue sky and the sun is shining, which is lovely, though I heard a piece saying reservoirs are only half-full which sounds scary. 🤷🏻♀️
#WelfareReform has created quite the atmosphere. Really hard to shake off the feeling of #Doom
-
Don't know how I'll sleep tonight. My average has been poor on a 'good' day. Today has not been a good day. As for the vulnerable person in my life... it's unlikely they'll sleep at all, going by past experience.
Thank you #LiNO
I was sceptical there'd be hope after your promises of #Change
I was not wrong.
Back to who knows how many hours on hold tomorrow...
-
Thank you. I feel supported by your comments.
I've been beating myself up, annoyed that I allowed myself to be baited and trying to convince myself it was 'him not me'.
As any long-term carer will no doubt agree, one is exhausted in the first place without additional burdens/hoops to jump through.

AWFUL, HORRIBLE experience calling the Universal Credit line on behalf of a vulnerable family member...
Robotic individual who answered was extremely unhelpful, kept talking over me and eventually put the 'phone down on me!
And no, I wasn't abusive, didn't swear at him... but WHAT THE F*CK?
I think the atmosphere/environment created by the political class, supported by the media is at play here...
So more hours on hold tomorrow as I try to resolve the situation.

Had to switch off 'Politics Live'... then got distracted by some domestics...
Cd the BBC offer presenters more blatantly biased than Vicki Young? Yarping at and interrupting Stella Creasy.
SC "Are you suggesting we should use 'phone-ins as the basis for evidence...?" (Nice one!)
VY "But people will be watching this who know people who shouldn't be getting PIP" (Heard of 'invisible disabilities' Vicki?)
Yeah Vicki, the well-known experts down the pub! FFS!
