This wasn't a tactical choice. The second round was a straightforward binary choice between #LINO and the fash. But you chose not to use LINO even to stop the fash. Seems odd.
In Ireland, where we have full STV, with multiple rounds, the left has been voting #ABFFG, ("anything but FF/FG") & "vote left, transfer left". But with actual fash on the march, we may need to rethink ABFFG. FF/FG are ugly, but not fash.

Test print of another lino that has been finished for a while but lining up two blocks has proved to be incredibly difficult. Realized today that I need to trim back the orange a bit more so they align better 🥴 It's a dream of mine to see one in the wild one day!

This has been a sad week for watchers of the #Makerfield by-eiection.
The ReformUK candidate is a fkake. Other fash are eating his vote.
The neoliberal Andy #Burnham has been outed by the #ManchesterMill as a lightweight. The Conservatives are over. The Greens are beached.
So Burnham will win, and annoyingly delay the long-overdue death of #LINO.
But there is good news: the Count Binface Party is fielding a candidate, who turns out to be — surprise! — #CountBinface himself. ❤️

Starmer has no mandate for any sort of single market:
1/ His 2024 manifesto rejected it https://labour.org.uk/change/britain-reconnected/
2/ Starmer's Labour got only 34% of the votes in 2024
3/ Starmer is about to be ejected as leader
4/ Labour will soon be replaced by ReformUK, who will cancel any deal.Starmtroopers act as if they had a stable majority support for their Europhila. The EU knows that #LINO govt is a busted flush, not a potential partner.

Nothing would ever make me sympathise with minister #LizKendall. She Is pure, hard right #LINO.
But this interview is the closest I can imagine. Kendall's task is to defend the indefensible #Mandelson saga, and inevitably she fails. Badly. At times, #TrevorPhilips is visibly pulling his punches, showing mercy for the struggling minister.
Somewhere inside every politician there is a limit to how much shit they will eat for a leader. Labour MPs will be watching this, and drawing lines.

@mjr Health Hubs may be a way to ease the privatisation that #LINO seeks. I haven't analysed that, but it wouldn't surprise me.
However, my point was about the merits of more types of NHS facility. There's nothing inherently privatised about minor surgery centres or high Street drop-in centres or NHS pop-up shops. All these innovations can be run very well within a publicly owned and run NHS.

@ChrisMayLA6 the failure to spend on so many areas because 'we can't afford it' (austerity) ends up pushing higher costs onto other areas as the whole system creaks, in this case NHS. Historically it's been non-Conservative governments that have made advances in the social realm. Not this one though. And I can't see that changing. #LINO

Private medical companies invested heavily in #WesStreeting when he was in opposition, to ensure that the #LINO government would lead to no diversion of the gravy train flowing their way.
Replacing #Streeting risks his replacement by someone slightly less committed to using the huge NHS budget to fatten #fatcats. It's a potential slippery slope to an #NHS run for patients, not profits. Totally irresponsible!
