I wouldn't trust him in any situation. I don't think any "arse kicking and dragging" can fix a lack of integrity.
He needs to go. Not that I'm suggesting it will happen. Unless in power he makes a bigger mess than Sunak in which case heaven help us all!

Nothing can justify admitting Natalie Elphicke to the Labour Party.
She said she learned of the move 'when everyone else did.'

There are a few more, all of a similar ilk; everything will be "watered down" to meaninglessness, but it's difficult to build an alternative with the political capture of most social media spaces after the rise of Corbynism; they're not going to let economic left wing sentiments build in the same way again.
