Some of my favourite lighthouse pics for #NationalLighthouseDay.

Two from Scotland to start: the cute little lighthouse in Portpatrick, Dumfries & Galloway; and the Dunnet Head lighthouse in the Scottish Highlands: the most northerly point of mainland Britain, on a day when the sky was ridiculously blue.

Kylmäpihlaja in the Gulf of Bothnia, Finland at sunset last month.

And finally, last but not least, South Stack off Ynys Gybi, off Ynys Môn (Holy Island/Anglesey) in Wales.

Cape Wrath from 40 years ago this month, the NW corner of mainland Scotland. On a cycling holiday round the northwest and north coasts, I detoured to walk from there to Sandwood Bay and Oldshoremore.

Please forgive me for not naming them all because I keep forgetting place names. I will try and edit them as the names come back.

1 is seen from the boat traveling from Tobermory to the Treshnish Islands.

2 is near John o'Groats.

3 is on the east Coast.

4 is Canonry Point.
