I appreciate monochrome a whole lot more today than back in the day when it was all I had ;)
(Especially #OpenLook / #OpenWindows ... that desktop made monochrome look downright SMEXY)
I know there's HDR, but I don't know of one simple and universal 48-bit color standard, and that's sad.
Fuzzy CRTs make low resolutions and low color depth look GOOD.
I remember this exact image being shown as a demo image for PCs in the early 1990s, and it looked GREAT at 320x200x256 colors on a CRT, but looks like HOT GARBAGE today. XD

@Edent +1 (actually a lot more) to this. As well as being a record for myself, it helps newbies get onboard without feeling intimidated y having to interact with "scary people". They can more easily experiment on their own.
Also if I've written doc on something and can point a newbie at it when they do all, I feel I've got something right (unless the doc was particularly hard to find!) so it's a win for everyone!

The strength is also dependent on your gemoetry. Of course plastic isn't as strong as metal, but do you really need that strength?
Sometimes metal seems very strong, but plastic will also work, the metal is a lot stronger than what you actually need.

Don't get me wrong, #Tramiel was a hero, but some of his cost-cutting things were nuts. Like having no graphics/sound commands in BASIC until the C128 (post-Jack) because they had a one-time license to MS BASIC (as long as they didn't change anything)
P.S. I might have the timeline wrong. I think the C128 was actually introduced during his tenure. It was the Plus4 that came out just as he left.
