This is such a brilliant idea, even if it's morbid.
I doubt I can make my parents do this tho. When I asked them to prepare their wills, they were visibly incensed. (In Asian cultures asking this is equivalent to saying: I want you to die faster 😆)
Then, I told them that I've already prepared a will for myself what's their excuse? 😆
Also, I reminded them that the govt will take their money if they don't do it. (Not really super true but the oldies believe it hahaha)
It worked.

My philosophy with newbies learning how to use #Obsidian and organize their #PKM is just start simple and come up with your own system bit by bit and tweak along the way. (I don't like following other people's systems.)
Yesterday I wondered if there was a better way 🤣. Thanks to the core plugin Bases and the community plug-in Notebook Navigator, I managed to organize my tag sprawl into something more manageable. Tags are such a pain - I have no idea how to use them before, so I simply tagged stuff randomly in the past. So, Notebook navigator revealed that I had hundreds of tags, with many of them only used once 🫠
So, yesterday I spent a long time getting rid of them.Fortunately, organizing my vault is one of those activities I love, so I had a lot of fun doing it but it was still tedious nitpicky work.
My next step is to come up with a way to catalog and org my PKM. I've used Obsidian mostly as a word processor cum research base to write drafts for posts and journals, but each of these drafts can be knowledge docs. I may have to finally apply the #Zettlekasten system 😆

Currently following two "talking" cats on #xiaohongshu. One is a chaotic orange who also is a genius, able to communicate clearly with the buttons. The other one, a gorgeous fluffy beauty, is blissfully ignorant (aka an utter dunce) who thinks the buttons are magic things that will make human feed it. Her videos are filled with her utter confusion as human does anything BUT give her food. (She keeps missing the "food" button, poor darling.)
In one "episode", the human concluded that Fluffy Beauty is an airhead and told her so via buttons, which, she of course gazed blankly at human in response, wondering again why the food dispensing buttons are broken again. The smart kitty, however, went over to his buttons and told human Mum to stop calling Fluffy Beauty a dunce.
These cats give me life.

In Hong Kong, corruption is rife in the real estate and construction industries. Long controlled by moguls, monopolies this has existed way back in the British rule. From my light investigation, while such corruption does happen in mainland China, it is not as bad as in Hong Kong. Many mainlanders expressed shock at a lot of the things revvealed here - elderly residents being charged six figures for repairs, cloaking the entire building in darkness for two years, blatant dismissal of the residents' fire safety concerns, which was raised from the very beginning.
On the mainland, safety standards are higher, though patchy. (Meaning less developed or rural areas do "get away" with shoddy standards.)
I'm not sure if this will bring about any change, however. The "one country two systems" is strong in Hong Kong and the Chinese govt will only step in when it's very crucial. Most probably, they'll wait to see how the current govt handles it.
What galls me is that despite repetitive fires in the past, nothing was done. (Wang Fuk towers wasn't the first, but it was the first with heavy casualties.)

I fortunately have one colleague left (after another left), but we work in separate hours and I actually understand how this isolation feels. To compensate, I work with friends during the day and make a point to go to the physical office. I wonder how is it gonna be like in the future.
I told my friend when discussing this that in the future the need for a big team of writers may be reduced; writers will still be needed but they may be managing AI junior writers instead.

Found out that Chen Zheyuan (he recently starred in #FatedHearts) adopted his canine costar from The White Olive Tree. The crew had rented the dog from a pet store and returned it after filming. When Zheyuan found out the dog was living in bad conditions he adopted it. Now he brings it to work with him and doggo, now called Azan, lives a spoiled life being petted and fawned over by China's most popular actors at Hengdian! 😆
Now, besides Xiao Wai (Liu Xueyi's dog) I am obsessed with Azan 😆

100% understand the guy! It's so comforting to know I can be understood in one part of China 😆. Apparently the Hokkien I speak is from Zhangzhou.
Tho I noticed they do use different words for somethings. Penang Hokkien has lots of loan words from English and Malay 😅

To add to the confusion in terms of Chinese languages/dialects, there are variants of Hokkien. I, for the life of me, could not understand the thick accents of Taiwanese and most of Fujian's Hokkien.
Apparently Penang Hokkiens are descendents of Zhangzhou Fujianese, so I went digging for a clip.
The last guy is definitely a brother from another mother!
It's kinda funny how different Zhangzhou Hokkien is from the others 😆
Ok now I want to go to Zhangzhou, China to see if they understand my Hokkien! it's nice to know if I go to China there's a tiny part of the country that understands my dialect.
