I feel like an #OldFogey saying this, but back in my #CircuitCity days, if someone returned an item, we tested it to make sure it wasn't defective, then packaged it back up to the best of our abilities, and put it back on the shelf with an #OpenBox discount sticker, usually 20-50% off retail price. We never sent anything to the #landfill unless it was legitimately broken beyond repair.

  10. Having a blast at #IowaCodeCamp2023! Lots of great presentations, sponsor booths, and friendly folks to chat with. Still hard to believe this is a free conference. Thanks for putting in the work to make this happen, @iowacodecamp!

That was probably meant as a joke, but a good #SoundDesigner can make an entire track from nothing but one short #VocalSample, and you'd never know it.

The human voice has lots of great #textures and #harmonics that easily lend themselves to #SoundDesign techniques like #GranularSynthesis and #resampling. Add in a healthy dose of the usual effects (like #reverb, #delay, #chorus, #distortion, #repitch, etc.), and the possibilities are nearly limitless.

Sorry for the info dump; Sound design is one of my lifelong passions, and I can't help chiming in when someone brings up audio #sampling. I hope you at least found it somewhat interesting. 😅

  17. Today, my "time since my entire understanding of reality was truly rocked" counter was reset to zero multiple times in the span of less than one hour by this video:
    youtu.be/QqY8fY0TqaQ

I was already pretty familiar with the #DoubleSlitExperiment and the #ThreePolarizerParadox, but the rest of the material was totally new to me, and my mind was utterly blown to smithereens.

Kudos to the #AstrumSpace channel on #YouTube for this informative and well-made piece on the counterintuitive, "spooky" behavior of light at the #quantum level. Excellent #ScienceCommunication.

The first thing I would try is muting the #MasterBus, leaving all the other settings the same, rendering a silent version of the same track, uploading it, and checking if the hum persists. If so, then the problem is probably somewhere in your #rendering chain, and you can start making minor tweaks, one at a time, to find the culprit by process of elimination. Some examples of minor tweaks I'd try:
    - the #SampleRate and #BitDepth (e.g. 48/24)
    - the #dithering settings (e.g. on/off, type/style, etc.)
    - the file type (e.g. #WAV, #AIFF, #FLAC, #ALAC)

I hope that helps, but if it doesn't, you should probably reach out to #Bandcamp support.
