I have always regarded resistance-to-change as one of the tell-tale signs of conservatism.
However, having been a member of a particular committee for about 7 years, now seeing new members loudly expressing discontent and trying to rip-up multiple established systems, I find myself wondering how this shows appreciation for the history of people's decisions that has got the society to the state it currently enjoys.

I started out with pen and paper, because nobody owned computers. When I first began sending stuff around it was from the Macintosh SE printed out on a dot-matrix printer from the bank at the University computer lab.
Nowadays I use Libre Office. It's quite fancy by comparison.

I feel like an #OldFogey saying this, but back in my #CircuitCity days, if someone returned an item, we tested it to make sure it wasn't defective, then packaged it back up to the best of our abilities, and put it back on the shelf with an #OpenBox discount sticker, usually 20-50% off retail price. We never sent anything to the #landfill unless it was legitimately broken beyond repair.
