This is what I was able to achieve today.
Still a lot of work to do. Openbox produces some odd inner border. Left, right, bottom, but I still can’t remove it. -

@regendans Interesting! So Noctalia is a window manager? I hadn't heard about it, but it seems there's quite a lot happening with it. There's no entry for it on the #ArchWiki, surprisingly.
I've been using #Labwc on my old #Thinkpad as a lightweight #KDE alternative, which is pretty nice too. An #Openbox alternative for #Wayland.

/e/OS, because promises an open future for mobile devices.
#Mint #Xfce, because it is lighweight. User friendly, and "just works". A perfect fit whenever I " just quickly need an OS on any random machine", and don't have the time to solve a gazillion silly compatibility problems myself.

Mabox Linux 25.12 is now available.
This release removes GTK2, introduces GTK3-based tools, improves the panel, and disables Picom by default for better compatibility on older systems.

Es el gestor de ventanas #openbox , le he quitado el marco superior, se parece a un Tiling Window pero sin serlo.
Sigo en Debian 12, tengo mucha pereza en subir de versión. Cuando se vaya el calor sofocante que tenemos en España migraré a la versión 13. 🤭

@mms On the two #openbsd’s I use #openbox, on #alpinelinux it is the #wayland #openbox cousin #labwc. Except for a clock my desktop is empty as in no icons. Menus a mouse button away. Background color #rebeccapurple

Heavily considering giving #niri a try after #paperwm has been causing some stability issues lately. I'm not sure if I'm ready to go back to a non-DE setup though (ran #openbox and #awesomewm back in the day). Niri sure is tempting though :-)

I'm happy with how my Openbox config is coming together! This time around I'm not using any kind of panel/taskbar and have set windows to open maximized by default:

Found an obscure #Linux #distro #side that appears to be unique. That is, makes its own toolchain, which is what crazy from #frugalware said defines a base distro. Side uses #pisi package manager, #sysvinit and features #LXDE based #SDE with #pekwm or #openbox window manager.
These odd little distros generally help #inxi find and handle corner cases it had missed. In this case didn't have pisi pm/SDE handled.
Wish I'd noticed side before inxi 3.3.37 went out but this always happens.
