Always loved Paul Lansky's early work with computer based music via linear predictive coding software in the 80s. Much of it was not widely available until the 90s, by which time most casual listeners mistakenly thought it was derived from sampling. The track Idle Chatter had several works on a theme. Almost exactly 13 years ago (to the day), I used the same with Java and my toxiclibs to transform images, driving altogether 768 granular oscillators to create super complex, constantly morphing drone sounds.
