  1. 🐢🎶 Ah, the age-old #debate of #resampling audio: a riveting tale of 3.9 kHz that nobody asked for. Kevin Boone bravely ventures where no one has gone before, exploring the thrilling world of #sampling #rates and #DACs on your handheld device. Spoiler: it’s as exciting as watching paint dry, but with more numbers. 📉🔊

Python tip: The examples in the random module provide a nice introduction to many useful techniques: bootstrapping, resampling statistics, simulations, and modeling.

For mastery, don't miss the Jake Vanderplas video and Peter Norvig's notebooks.

That was probably meant as a joke, but a good #SoundDesigner can make an entire track from nothing but one short #VocalSample, and you'd never know it.

The human voice has lots of great #textures and #harmonics that easily lend themselves to #SoundDesign techniques like #GranularSynthesis and #resampling. Add in a healthy dose of the usual effects (like #reverb, #delay, #chorus, #distortion, #repitch, etc.), and the possibilities are nearly limitless.

Sorry for the info dump; Sound design is one of my lifelong passions, and I can't help chiming in when someone brings up audio #sampling. I hope you at least found it somewhat interesting. 😅
