  1. Ok my good Sunday is nearly complete. First over Mancity. Then did a wonderful hike and came back to watch play their first game ever in sadly away and they spanked the MLS Cup champs 2-0. Wow.

Next weekend’s first home game in SD is looking hot. Glad I got those season tix.

  2. His embrace of the handle of “Big Balls” should be able you need to know that the Doge Bros aren’t our best. However, Wired chased down a whole lot more wired.com/story/edward-coristi

Another thing that shocks here is Wired has some honest to god old fashioned journalists doing original work. More please.

  3. At costco at 5pm today it was typical but yet not. You totally could spot who was prepping. Their cart showed it. Piles of water and canned goods and fucking toilet paper. Why toilet paper? The most obvious clue and almost for all shoppers …eggs. The eggs were truly crazy. People clutched the double trays like babies and continuous restocking said it all. It’s truly has that just before Covid energy. I am worried. I want to be wrong so wrong.

  4. Just imagine the reduced cost, minuscule server, bandwidth, and energy requirements and robustness of a broadcast video signal over the air or a dedicated wire? Sure you’d have to watch at a particular time for things and you’d have to choose from a set list of showing things but it would scale like nobody’s business.
Someone should totally do a startup for this after that horrid fight stream.

Yes this is a but is it? 🤨 it’s tradeoffs, it’s always tradeoffs

  5. It's fun to see very direct navigation indicators, like “You are here,” still being tried out in .

  6. Signs of the are everywhere, and we have AI—and surveillance-focused business models to thank for that. Many parts of the world are pushing their local regulatory issues harder, and now we are even seeing content fragmentation as large-scale sites are paywalled or not restricted. Surveys of robots.txt and things like Reddit/Google bundling show we are in for lots more .

    404media.co/the-backlash-again

Also, @404mediaco you folks are crushing it!

  7. I am late to the party, but I discovered Miami Connection this weekend. It is hard to express how bonkers this 80s action-rock movie is. In summary, it involves a Taekwondo band of orphan friends called Dragon Sound fighting a cocaine ninja biker gang on the hard streets of Orlando somehow connected to Miami.

  8. If certain people are bagging and saying the Fedi is where old techies go to live out their golden years online, then sign me the fuck up now, and also can I have an account with a view? Ok, now that is all settled, who is up for 68000 assembly bingo?

  9. Talking to my senior dev today. Her drive filled up ... culprit node_modules

    70GB!

Utter madness and not her fault.

  10. So writing helper AIs are dropping everywhere now. You, too, can sound like a Linkedin person with such insightful gems like this

"In a world of complex social media language and trendy hashtags, let us remember the importance of clear and concise communication. 🌟💬 📝"

It even added emojis ... ugh. All socials will be filled with SPAM nonsense like this via these bullshit cannons in 5..4..3...

  11. Here’s a little privacy and data control cosplay from OpenAI wired.com/story/how-to-delete-

Summary is roughly only Europe and Japan, fill out a form show harm, maybe we will remove, but also maybe we will not. Didn’t say your content will come out just the query won’t. Sounds more like on demand prompt mods for selected queries to avoid litigation?

Seriously if this is the best they can do it’s gonna get bumpy real bumpy very soon.

  12. Enjoy my happy robot friend tagging good and bad things. It’s so harmless because it’s a cartoon!

“AI” robot friend would never ever misclassify YOU denying YOU a loan, job opportunity, or YOUR ability to organize for action. If that ever did happen you should know it only happens to OTHER people who aren’t YOU according to robot friend’s owners.

  13. Funny thing about Mastadon is that back in the day with RSS it was a community but less constant and yet still super informative and cool. If Elon helps us somehow reclaim that way of living maybe we say thanks ?

  14. Elon is seriously melting down on Twitter. Banning people who imitate him and cancelling Tesla orders of critics even. I’ve been going back and forth network wise but at this rate if he keeps it up no way would I continue. If the main character is such a total wanker who would really want to be there ? Mastodon feels just calm maybe because it doesn’t aim to be like that.

  15. We need some sort of script or service for checking and pulling together our network from Twitter as people join to make this place grow quick enough to catch fire does anybody know if such a thing exists?
