My Laptop turned Ubuntu Servers built-in LAN port broke. So over to Amazon same day delivery of a USB-Lan cable.

Plugged it in - but hmm, no IP. Quick google and found out about the new #NetPlan. So one file edited later and it's picked up my servers static IP from my router and all my dockers are up and running!

I have one of the latest FireTV stick 4k. However about the only thing I use on it now is #Jellyfin and #SmartTube. I have a currently unused Pi5.
I would love to have my own #StreamingStick free of oppression from Google, Amazon and others.

Has anybody gone this route? If not with a Pi, other CHEAP ideas?

Finally getting round to doing some housekeeping with my #Jellyfin server now I have a new 8Tb drive. My old 4Tb was over 10 years old - but was still working!

Completing some of the series I have on there and some name housekeeping with #FileBot

So, Virgin media are rolling up Upstream speed boosts for free.

So I now get about 940Mbps Download and 100Mbps upload!

Thanks to the fantastic tutorial from @cymplecy and the responses to my constant toots, I now have a working #NodeRed server running listening to my #Alexa #SimonSays speech so I can control #cheerlights
