    #localfirst

  2. Se passer de serveur c'est possible ?
    On oublie Nextcloud, infomaniak, proton.

  3. I am looking for some #localFirst solution for blog authoring what would publish (all or some) posts to an activityPub server like to a relay, with publishing of new versions of posts as updates.
And fetch new posts, comments, mentions, messages, and reactions arrive to my local-first thing as a Feed or an Inbox.
Sounds like I want "Fido with formatting and attachments" over #ActivityPub .
The #Fido part is avoid need to be "always online", but sync that few times per day when have time for it

  8. For a little while I was able to get my phone to auto-sync all my latest photos to my PC when I was on the same wifi with both devices, and to sync the calendar on my phone and PC automatically.

    It was glorious!

But the first thing was incredibly hard to set up (Syncthing), the other was a hard and required online tools (NextCloud in my case).

Man, I wish modern Linux would have tools to do this easily and locally! Feels pretty essential these days.

  17. I"m currently thinking a bit how I want to organise my stuff.

I noticed that for a long time I only managed my calendar through the Nextcloud interface.
Which lead to the following questions.

    - What if I would carry all my data with me?
    - How much disk space would I need?
    - Or what if I would go back to manually syncing things?
    - How does #localfirst look like in 2026?
    - Is #gitannex something that could help here?
    - How do you play local music on an iPhone?

Does someone have experience with this and would like to share some inputs?

I've seen that #offlinefirst is a hashtag that is mainly used for a development practice, how do we call this for users?
