Build local-first and decentralized apps - Based on CRDTs, NextGraph brings about the convergence between P2P and Semantic Web, towards a secure and privacy-preserving cloud
https://nextgraph.org/(I vaguely remember that some people I know worked on a CRDT lib (while at mozilla maybe?)... but I always struggle to remember its name... help me please if you're one of those :)

At @[email protected]'26 #LocalFirst devroom, I'll present with Laurin the latest advances in NextGraph, the framework fitted with a federated E2EE sync protocol, a graph database, a new Reactive ORM for Svelte, React and VueJS to bind your #CRDTs easily to the frontend. openlocalfirst.org/schedules/#5...

Computer Networks GroupThe Computer Networks Group researches and develops distributed infrastructure for secure communication and computation at all levels of the networking stack. Our past activities include work on sensor networks, autonomic operations of networks, bio- and chemically-inspired networking, as well as mobile code. Currently our main focus is on survivable computing.
The aim of the P2P Basel workshop is to bring together researchers and software builders to share insights and collaborate towards the sound and sustainable development of efficient eventually-consistent (offline-first) peer-to-peer systems. Examples of related projects of interest are Secure #Scuttlebutt , DAT/Hypercore , Cabal , #Tox, BitMessage , #IPFS , Socket Supply co., #OrbitDB , Earthstar , Willow , #Nostr , #Holochain , #P2Panda , #GNUnet , #Hyphanet , #Freenet , #Zeronet , #Retroshare , #NextGraph , #Web3 , #serverless , #maidsafe , #matrix , Other P2P projects that are based on stronger consistency models, such as Mass Market are also of interest.

@firesidefedi interviewed @laurin a developer with the #ActivityPods @activitypods #project!
Watch this nice conversation about Laurin, ActivityPods, and anything else to get to know Laurin.

Productive procrastination with Netgraph. I have successfully deployed a simple peer-to-peer connection with traffic mirroring capability that is suitable for Wireshark sniffing. What makes Netgraph great is that no additional software is required at all. I will note these personal discoveries into my notes (and eventually, turn it into an ebook?)

Studying at the morning is the best way to learn. I have successfully deployed Client1-Router-Client2 with netgraph and vnet. Screenshot 1 is the deployment result, and Screenshot 2 dot image produced by netgraph with some editing (my first time hacking Graphviz dot file, and so confusing. But actually quite simple).
My last objectives are to route the traffic between client 1 and client 2, and automate the netgraph process

The recording of the July 11th, 2024 #bhyve Production User Call is up:
We discussed the newly-posted @EuroBSDCon schedule, the weekly #FreeBSD snapshots that might include 9pfs improvements, changes to the FreeBSD release schedule, the urgent need for live migration on FreeBSD, the #TrueNAS 13.3 VNC issue and its causes, WebVNC/NoVNC in general, the #Netgraph "retry" issue, bhyve "quiz" user process functionality, and more!
"Don't forget to slam those Like and Subscribe buttons."
-
The July 9th, 2024 Jail/Zones Production User Call is up:
We got an update from DCH about his jail-based CI system, discussed Jan's proposal to port #OpenBSD's sendsyslog(2) and syslog_r(3) to #FreeBSD for finer-grained logging, revisited Antranig's #Netgraph "retry" issue, and more!
"Don't forget to slam those Like and Subscribe buttons."

The June 25th, 2024 Jail/Zones Production User Call is up:
We had a long, in-depth #NetGraph performance debugging session and more!
"Don't forget to slam those Like and Subscribe buttons."

I like the fact that the BSDs are pretty stable platforms, rather than an amalgam of unrelated packages.
I'd like to try FreeBSD next. Also, Gentoo Linux.

Just updated my Netgraph VIewer for safer use. Make sure to bypass doas password in doas.conf. Now, normal users can run these scripts without root directly
Codeberg: https://codeberg.org/maulanahirzan/Netgraph-Viewer
Brew BSDCafe: https://brew.bsd.cafe/maulanahirzan/Netgraph-Viewer!!! Run these script with extra precaution. I am not responsible for any broken system or data lost. You have been warned !!!
