It is so cool that likely one of the fastest (especially compared to `better-sqlite3`) sqlite bindings for Node.js out there is the one we use for Signal Desktop client.

I should find motivation to upstream my ideas to back to Node.js core (JS level parameter binding and row parsing through a compiled function), but I’m… too lazy for that. Happy to explain how it all works to anyone interested, though!

1) Spacetime inveriance
2) Locality

Is V8 Code Cache format somewhat stable? Looking at the code it currently just stores bytecode for each function and a few extra data, but no assembly.

What I'm wondering about is whether I could precompile #electronjs preload code cache for all platforms/architectures and distribute it with the application?

I just finished studying all N3 points on #bunpro! Obviously I'm nowhere near being comfortable using them and will keep reviewing it for a few months (until burned), but it is a big milestone for myself.

Relatedly, just as I did with N5/N4, I'm going to take a break from studying new stuff on bunpro.jp until August just to let things settle down in my memory a bit before moving on!

Placed an order for a new #electricguitar! I've long wanted to go back to headless guitars, and after playing #kiesel for a few years I decided to stay with them and get a Neck-Through 7-String Vader.

Configurator doesn't allow HSH pickups with neck through, but this is what I got on my order over phone. Partly because of the Easter discount, but also because I enjoyed single pickups on the Ibanez Ichi.

Build times for Kiesel are currently 14-18 weeks, will report when it is completed!

Not really a #wanikani update, but still a notable one!

I didn't quite start learning N3, but there are some grammar that I'm encountering now and then (べき, について, にとって), so I decided to add it to SRS queue and be done with.

My current plan is to get back to one grammar point per day once I hit level 20 on #wanikani. It might happen just in a couple of weeks!

My immediate goal remains to get to level 20 of #wanikani, and I'm trying to not think too much about the "Death" and “Hell" levels that follow it 😅

Meanwhile, #bunpro decided that I deserve some punishment too and consistently spams me with 30-40 reviews per day even though I'm learning only 1 new grammar point per day now. It certainly helps with my grammar, but SRS can be really harsh!
