If the practical limitation of this style of moderation is that you can only afford to moderate semi closed invite only groups then that is still valuable: this is how most activist signal groups work anyway - but even within decentralised systems like matrix or simplex you can still delegate moderation rights with chat permission hierarchies to make moderating larger groups feasible.

@Elizafox What do you think of simplex? Like signal its floss e2ee but its also decentralized anyone can run a simplex message relay whereas with signal you're locked into one server infrastructure, also it has quantum resistant encryption edit just remembered signal has quantum resistance too
