Just tried to install Steinberg’s macOS version of their software manager after watching some YouTuber recommend their free tier synths and sampler instruments. Their latest version doesn’t run on my 2022(!) Mac mini M2 Pro. It hangs at launch.
Apple popup during install says: “Support Ending for Intel-Based Apps This version of "Steinberg Download Assistant" includes a component that will not work with a future release of macOS. Learn how to update to an Apple silicon version.”
They still don’t have a clean Apple Silicon version of their completely essential installer in 2026. Went to find a support contact and just found hoops to jump through. NOPE.
JFC, Steinberg. Get in a ditch.
