CW: Women’s football; inappropriate sponsorship
If its a "mixed" team should we assume half the spaces should be proactively filled by girls? The #FA are talking about equal access by 2024, but where is the guidance?

CW: Women’s football; inappropriate sponsorship
Pigging backing on this discussion as I'm struggling to find resources on encouraging equal access to teams in primary schools. There's lots of talk on all the big websites and corporate sponsorship strategies from #Disney and #weetabix but very few resources one can take to a #headteacher to ask for fairer access.

@gem_abbott The #BarCouncil should have her “honorary” K.C. removed. As a solicitor I am disgusted by her dishonest politics.

CW: UK Housing; death of a young child
@gem_abbott So awful. Where to even start with the state of #housing in the country? Horrifying conditions for social housing residents; appalling service from social housing providers; #leaseholders being trapped, ripped off and bankrupted by the #CladdingScandal; shoddy, unsafe newbuilds; members of the public being killed by building site accidents and nothing being done (happened twice within a mile of me in a few years).

@gem_abbott But will the King object or will he stay silent to avoid just such controversy, especially so early into his reign? #ukpolitics #ResignationHonours

How convenient - should keep things quiet until after a General Election

CW: What I’m reading; Foster
I want to read everything #ClaireKeegan has ever written. I’m not sure I’ve ever read a writer so sparing with her words to such impact. Every single line is measured to perfection. Just glorious.

CW: UK Politics; Dido Harding
📣 Seeing a lot of “breaking news” about a #GoodLawProject and Runnymede Trust case from earlier this year (a time when I was Legal Director of GLP), in which then-Health Secretary #MattHancock was found to have acted unlawfully when he appointed #DidoHarding as the head of #TestAndTrace without due regard to equalities law
It’s not new, but it seems to do the rounds every so often. People are still really cross it seems!

CW: UK Politics: Far-Right Terrorism
“Britain had a far-right terrorist attack a week ago. Why the failure to call it by its true name?”
Powerful piece from Miqdaad Versi on the muted reaction to the Dover refugee terrorist attack 👏

CW: Terrorism; UK politics
It has taken almost a week to determine that the Dover attack was an act of terror
It involved a white man throwing fire bombs at a centre for refugees
It took Hope Not Hate just a matter of hours to find the bomber had a history of sharing far-right and racist content
So why were the police and media so slow to call this what it so clearly was?
