This week I’ve been pretty focused on #Buddhist study & practice (& rearranging my bedroom, but the less said about that the better), but today I’m going to consciously relax a little more and play some Zelda! As #Santideva said in The Way of the Bodhisattva,
“But when your strength diminishes,
Put work aside to act again later.
Once it’s well done, leave it behind
Look forward to the next and later.”Rest is also a part of practice.

Excellent long read from the late Rob Burbea about the lack of engagement of #Buddhist teachers and centres with the climate emergency. There’s more events happening remotely now but still a lot of unnecessary flying from retreat to retreat- is it really authentic #Dharma practice if we’re not fully engaged with planet-wide issues on both a personal and systemic level?

Yesterday’s 8-precept ‘purification day’ (#uposatha) observance went well. Meditated, rested, did some laundry and some reading in the evening. Not eating after lunch was surprisingly easy (R helped out by making me a big filling plate of pasta for my midday meal!) and I felt like I had a bit more energy late in the day. Next one is the new moon next Saturday!
