Recently we noticed that #Android10 don't allow users to encrypt their own device. It says something like #GoogleEncrypted and the user cannot change the setting.
This is really bad.
Out-of-the-box #Google encryption means no #encryption, in our opinion.
We wonder whether it's worth owning a #smartdevice today. Maybe an #AllPhonesAreBad (#APAB) campaign is needed. Similar to ACAB, but aimed at the extreme threat posed by #closedTech.

Bref enfin ça montre encore une fois que bah y a 0 effort de fait sur le suivi des MAJ et que la Nexus 7 qui date de 2013 est toujours d'actualité et en plus Android 10 (LineageOS 17.1) tourne au poil, c'est fluide :onion_good:

@dredmorbius that's one of the reasons my most recent phone was the #Xiaomi #MiA1 (which essentially is the #Mi5X with #StockAndroid).
Since it is an #AndroidOne device, it came with the promise of frequent OTA updates till at least #Android9 (Pie), even though it was released with #Android7 (Nougat).
It likely won't see an official update to #Android10 (Q), but Xiaomi devices are generally well-supported in the ROM community.

Perhaps this is just publishing GammaGroup . Com's work, finally, since it's deployed in the 100's of millions of installs, currently, and this is just a cover up? /Cynical 🤔
I have seen some cover stories from Google around this, less than a year ago, talking about ' proxy servers ', which this #StateSponsoredMalware, served FROM Google's & Apples app stores, install and manage via a #ForcedMDM, billed as ' a security product ', perhaps this rebranded but offices closed in Germany from FinFisher . Com in 2021, because of license issues selling this #malware to a country and getting prosecuted by German Prosecutors', also named ' The Enemy of the Internet, since 2012 ', which is #CALEAmalware.
I've been following this for many years now in #infosec actually and publishing this #malware'w client side modules on this for Android10, Android11 & Android12, detailing this #malware on #VirusTotal.
Probably getting around to Android 13 & Android 14 client modules this year sometime also. ☣️🔍🧐
