Arrived in #Kralovny, beautiful station hall. Train to #Trstená is turning back. #Ex606 #Tatran to #Bratislava is announced with 30min delay... I was planning on changing to a faster #IC, this will not be possible anymore. But #Tatran also has a restaurant car, so hopes are high I'll get something to eat.

Also I love the printed carriage position indicators. Childhood memories...

It's all very scenic, remote but also alive. People get on and off at every station. This rural line clearly serves the needs of local communities.

Heute haben wir gelernt, dass Gattendorf im Burgenland einen alten jüdischen Friedhof hat. Er liegt ein Stück ausserhalb der Gemeinde hinter der Kläranlage und ist von einem Maschendrahtzaun umgeben, der uns daran hindert ihn näher zu betrachten, denn wir sind ja keine Kaninchen, die sich unter dem Zaun durchgraben. Der Friedhof mit seinen ungefähr 120 Grabsteinen aus den letzten Jahrhunderten steht unter Denkmalschutz. Am Eingang befindet sich nur eine berührend kinderhandschriftliche Tafel einer 4. Klasse der hiesigen Mittelschule, die sich offenbar vor einigen Jahren mit dem Friedhof beschäftigt hat.
