On a 🇫🇷 cross-country, #Mulhouse to #Montpellier single-level #TGV Réseau trainset with “Lacroix” fitting, according to the #SNCF App. (I think this refers to some interior design elements, including the flashy colours.) Heading to the #DiningCar, labelled “Le Bar” on the outside, for breakfast. ☕️ 🥐

Over the scenic #Brenner 🇦🇹🇮🇹 line on board an #ÖBB #RailjetNextGen, #Railjet2.0 #DaNi trainset the other day. Composed of nine cars, they are usually hauled by an ÖBB Class 1293 #Siemens #Vectron multi-system electric. Catering options include a small #DiningCar section, a number of vending machines, and an at-seat service in 1st class.

#Villach 🇦🇹 Hbf in June 1990. This is an #ÖBB #DiningCar in the consist of a Sunday evening peak time working for #Vienna. This #WRz type of diner was, at some point, rebuilt from a seat car. One could also see them on the Vienna to Venice #Gondoliere 🇮🇹 daytime Express in the 1970s and early 1980s.

Wir waren in Guizhou, was schon zu Chinas Süden zählt. Auf jeden Fall gibt es dort die klassischen Züge. Gut gefüllt mit 118 Leuten pro Waggon und alle paar Minuten kommt jemand durch und verkauft Essen. Oder Jan geht in den #Diningcar

🇭🇺🚂🚃🚃🍽 The Viennese #diningcar bow. Half an hour of pure dining car bliss. This time with EC 149 "Hortobágy" and "Paradicsom-mozzarella tál", a tomate mozzarella plate accompanied with a decent Hungarian lager🍺!

🇸🇰🍽 Travelling through #Slovakia works best with an Express service, here Ex 613 "Tatran", because of the wonderful WRmz #WagonSlovakia🇸🇰 #diningcar. I went for a traditional breakfast: "Raňajkové mini Párky Zipser" - mini sausages with bread and mustard 😍. A great company from #Bratislava🇸🇰 to #Vrútky🇸🇰!

Good morning from the #DB 🇩🇪 #ICE #InterCityExpress #118. Boarding the train at #Villach 🇦🇹, we soon travel over the scenic #Tauernbahn line, enjoying a late, second, breakfast in the train’s #DiningCar.

ICE 546 macht heute richtig Spaß :laughing: :
- verspätete Bereitstellung des Zuges
- verspätetes Personal aus vorheriger Fahrt
- defektes Stellwerk (eventuell mehrere Male unterwegs)
- Störung am Fahrzeug, mindestens zwei Mal inklusive ungeplantem Aufenthalt von ca. 50 Minuten (zusätzlich zu den bisherigen +50).
- Letzte Info vom Zugchef war, "Wagen 31 funktioniert wieder" - kurze Pause- "zumindest soweit, dass wir weiter fahren können" :smile:
- Bistro war schon ab Dortmund zu (ich bekam noch ein Thai-Curry in der letzten Runde)
Aber Klimaanlange funktioniert und es gibt Notfall-Wasser, danke!
Im #diningcar haben wir über unser gemeinsames Schicksal gewitzelt und bereut, nicht die Gelegenheit in Dortmund für einen Umstieg genutzt zu haben.

Die DB macht DB-Sachen, sagte ich ja.
In meinem ersten ICE heute gab es im #diningcar nur eingeschränkte Karte. Fand ich nicht schlimm, es war Nachmittag. Ich hätte mich über ein Stück Kuchen gefreut, aber Kaffee ohne Kuchen ist am Ende auch besser für mich, so gesehen ohne Ironie: danke :smile:.
Im erwähnten ICE 770 gab es dann gar nichts mehr zu Essen, nur kalte Getränke. Das war schade.
Dennoch, Essen im Zug, gemütlich sitzend bei > 100 Km/H ist auch bisschen Luxus. Wenn man das als sochen sieht, ist es auch nicht schlimm wenn es mal nicht klappt.
Die Personalys haben sich nach Kräften bemüht, auch nach einer sehr langen Schicht.Die nächste Rückfahrt kommt bestimmt :smile:.

On the road, err, on the rails, again. Lunch in the #DB 🇩🇪 #ICE #DiningCar as we head north, from #Basel🇨🇭SBB. Chicken and a Bavarian 🍺, always a good choice. We cross, and then follow, the #Rhine river. Travelling along the vineyards, we reach speeds of about 250 kph (on a new-built section that is).

The northbound #Amtrak 🇺🇸 ‘Silver Meteor’ reaches #Virginia early in the morning and stops at #Washington D.C. Union Station for an engine change: we are passing from diesel to all electric here, before heading on to #NYC over the ‘Northeast Corridor’.

At #Maricopa, AZ 🇺🇸. Boarding the #Amtrak “Sunset Limited” bound for New Orleans. We will, essentially, be travelling on (former) Southern Pacific rails. As we depart, we get a glimpse of the 1948 “California Zephyr” dome observation car in the nearby park. And: delicious breakfast in the #DiningCar.

In questo momento, a bordo del RailJet 84 delle ferrovie austriache, sto risalendo la valle dell’Adige... spettacolare quando uno può guardarla per bene senza dover tener gli occhi fissi sulla strada!

Coffee in a nifty cup from trolley service on a TPE train. The coffee grounds are loose, and the dark patch in the lid is a built-in fine mesh sieve through which you sip the coffee directly so you don't get a mouthful of gritty grounds! Whoever heard of such a thing!
I'm guessing the inventor and patenter tried to sell it first to the coffee shop chains, then the airlines, then did the rounds of the mobile coffee carts and trucks, and was finally reduced to the TPE trolley service operator.
