“Subalpine Meadow, Evening Light” — A ridge rises above a subalpine meadow and forest, Yosemite.
This is another “quiet” photograph — no brilliant colors, not really an iconic location. It simply captures, I hope, something of the feeling of being in the High Sierra as the day winds down, the light warms as sunset approaches, and begin to stretch across the landscape. It is a beautiful time of day — everything slows down, it gets quieter as people go to camp for dinner.

Day 3 of my trip involved exploring more Yosemite National Park with a hike to Vernal Falls, checking out the Ansel Adams Gallery, shower & nap, hiking near El Capitan, and riding the park’s free shuttle buses.
I return to SF tomorrow, but I will never get tired of the majesty of the giant features surrounding Yosemite Valley.

Dogwood on the Merced
A single white dogwood blossom glows against the soft, flowing blues of the Merced River. Delicate petals stretch outward like a star, framed by fresh green leaves. The river’s motion creates a dreamy, painterly backdrop that makes the blossom appear almost suspended in light.
