My #bgstats #boardgame 4x4 for April
The highlights were the #GMTGames #WeekendAtTheWarehouse with new #boardgames to drool over, playtesting, and seeing folks who I don’t get to see/game with at other times. Always a fun time for all gamers.
Online #battlestargalactia board game continued on #tts with probably the quickest cylon (and cylon leader) win in a mere 36 minutes. (I was one of the cylons), #sosayweall
I played Yahtzee! Just to prove it’s who as much as what games you play.

An advanced copy of A Gest of Robin Hood #boardgame was available for folks to both look over and to play at the #GMTGames #weekendatthewarehouse.
I did so and I won. Beginner's luck? Probably.

I’ve been planning on doing this for years. Jason Matthews kindly signed my first edition of the #twilightstruggle #boardgame way back in 2009.

Back from GMT West aka #WeekendAtTheWarehouse
I think this was my 25th trip to this cardboard nirvana hidden away in the insect ridden flatness of California’s central valley.
As always there are familiar faces, newcomers, a bunch of folks I only ever see at GMT, and the ever welcoming staff who put up with a gaggle of gamers invading their work space for 4 days twice a year. Good times.
It was good to see Mark playing the full setup of Third World War.

Atten-shun! The British Way #COINSeries #boardgame is a impressive package. Lots of top notch goodies in the box. Four 2-player games that can be combined into a campaign. Brilliant! I got to play the Palestine game at the #WeekendAtTheWarehouse and it was quick to play and focused.

We dubbed the area as Commie Corner when we played Land & Freedom. The day before Prelude to Revolution and Triumph of Chaos v2 had been played in that corner.
Geraldo was new to Land & Freedom yet took an early lead until my Anarchists took hold via Collectivization. The government changed hands many times and the result was a close draw from the Bag of Glory at the game end. Commie Luis won despite that I had more chits in the bag.

It may be ran by a slightly well known #boardgame publisher but all all types and styles of games are enjoyed there.
A few notable folks will not be attending due to health and other reasons. You will be missed.

2/2 We had a fun time despite misplacing one of the counters. It must have fallen off the table or got sent to Siberia 🤪
We both liked the gameplay, some novel twists on the CDG style of point or events. The card pool & points adds options for the players. The interconnection between the different game elements seemed thematic. The score dice is fun with the mix of predictability and risk.

My first cardboard crush were #wargames by such #boardgame publishers as SPI, AH, and GDW. I have dabbled with miniature & computer #wargaming but counters are 😍

The #SoCalWargamers group meets in Pasadena and uses a Google group to plot our shenanigans. We mostly play historical boardgame wargames aka #consim or #hexandcounter games.

I’m a regular attendee at the #GMTGames #WeekendAtTheWarehouse, #SDHist, & #PacificonGameExpo cons.
