Ardennes II, the SCS system game by MMP.
This is about 5 turns in (out of 16).
Germans in the north have been stonewalled, but in the center and south are making progress, despite many bridges blown by the Americans in the center.
Cubes are Victory Point locations, red for American control and purple for German control. Germans are up to 13 pts.

I told someone on BGG that I was interested in buying a game they were selling. I had to withdraw from my purchase for life reasons, so I apologised. I never heard back from him, but I felt guilty; it used to bug me when people backed out of buying a game I was selling, or never got back to me to complete the purchase. C'est la vie, sometimes.

Starting a game of Space Empires 4X with the new All Good Things expansion.
Two standard empires and the two alternate empires from that expansion.
Playing with all the standard rules, no facilities. Trying out the new crew cards, but not the scenario cards.
Lots of stuff to try out with this expansion though.

Our first game played was Napoleon 1815 by Shakos. The Waterloo campaign at the division/corp level with point to point movement. The dice-less combat system and card driven nature result in lots of tension and drama.
While Napoleon 1815 was two co-operating versus one the next game that we played, Land and Freedom, is three separate factions trying to individually win while collectively we are trying to beat the game. So expect timely backstabbing.

This arrived today. Three maps 12 scenarios and a 6 date campaign game. Eight counter sheets provide enough counters to play it all with only Beyond Valor needed.
One scenario is a monster 12 turn affair on all three maps with more than 60 vehicles in total.
Really nice that they provided color coded acquisition counter sets specifically to be used with each specific set of vehicles and guns, as delineated on counter sheet sprues. This is great, but it begs for a play aid that shows all the associations and color delineations.
Looks great overall.

Into Turn 10 now on Star Fleet Battles scenario The Pleiades Turkey Shoot. The Klingons got their second flotilla of gunboats as this turn's reinforcement. They are inbound but the Federation's F14 and A10 fighters are intercepting them.
The F18s are launching drones here against the remaining Klingon fighters as they close in on the last Destroyer Escort Rokoshovsky.
The Rokoshovsky has a down shield number 5, and after many of these Klingon fighters were removed by the F18s (who lost one of their own number as well), the Klingon F5 closed in with phasers and overloaded disruptors and stripped down the Rokoshovsky's shield number 4 causing some center hull damage. Only a little hull left means the next volley of internals will start hitting the vital systems of the Destroyer Escort.

This arrived in the mail today, "Wargames According to Mark" on Mark Herman's views on historical wargame design.
Very nice production with full color, professional binding and a placeholder ribbon. Looks like a good read.
