Our first game played was Napoleon 1815 by Shakos. The Waterloo campaign at the division/corp level with point to point movement. The dice-less combat system and card driven nature result in lots of tension and drama.
While Napoleon 1815 was two co-operating versus one the next game that we played, Land and Freedom, is three separate factions trying to individually win while collectively we are trying to beat the game. So expect timely backstabbing.

The #SoCalWargamers group meets in Pasadena and uses a Google group to plot our shenanigans. We mostly play historical boardgame wargames aka #consim or #hexandcounter games.

Skies Above Britain #boardgame by Jerry White & Gina Willis and published by #GMTGames. An impressive package indeed. The rules are richly illustrated & easy to follow. Lots of detailed playaids, and nice and clear counters. SaB can be played solo or with 2 players.
Listening to the music from the 1969 Battle of Britain film is mandatory while playing. Or so I’ve told myself 🤪
