One of Edward's and Margaret's children John was killed at the Somme in 1916 at the age of 18. He's named on the headstone in Weaste Cemetery Salford shown in the above post, but is actually buried in a Commonwealth War Grave in Suzanne, Picardie, France.

Another sad story from the family tree. Edward Fitzpatrick, a cousin of my great grandmother Martha Ann Fitzpatrick, was a painter who worked at Bolton railway station. He was crossing the tracks after work in a blizzard and was killed by a train. 19th December 1909.
Buried in Weaste Cemetery Salford. -
