The continuing saga of #University mismanagement now focuses on the #UniverstityOfWollongong with allegations of #cronyism and favoured #consultancies.

“The corruption watchdog has confirmed three main areas it will probe, including whether the university's chief governance officer and secretary, Alyssa White, or any other staff subverted recruitment processes for governance roles.

Happy that the AQUA exec was able to make a submission against cutting #EarthScience at #UOW. It may not help, but what is the point of our professional organisations if not to turn up for our members? Saying that, I have seen people calling out various organisations to act on the slow-and-then-all-at-once death of earth sciences, and so I want to share an evergreen reminder that the best way to get an organisation to do something is to volunteer to join the committee and get cracking.

200-300 jobs at #UOW to go after $35 m deficit. Far out, it seems dire at home right now. How many rounds of huge job cuts can the system take?
