#uifail peeve of the day
Location: #Youtube website homepage on mobile, logged out, no cookies, and no history. There is a logo, a search bar, and a request to turn history back on.
You select the search bar.
On desktop, you now get to type into the search bar.
On mobile, the page rearranges itself. The search bar moves, or maybe is deleted and recreated in a different place. The result is that the search bar is deselected. You have to select it *again* to type in your search terms 🙄

Dear "daily game" website devs,
Please provide a way to load today's game.
Having to press "reload" on the browser tab to clear yesterday's results and play today's game feels weird. If you don't have any more space in the UI, just reload the page yourself any time after, say, 4am.
Celltower: button - doing it right.

WTF #KLM #airline what is wrong with you?
Like other airlines, they require your passport number pre #checkin .
But you can't type it in anymore. The ONLY option is, to SCAN the real passport with your webcam or a smartphone. No option to upload an image or just type in the information.
And apparently don't even need the image/video, they just use it to extract the passport number.
Which I could have copy/pasted in, saving me a ton of time.

Android UI Deceptive Design Pattern Department: A few weeks ago, we crammed an AI button into the Search bar widget. But, nobody used it, even when we tricked people into tapping the button accidentally if the corner of their phone pressed on the base of their thumb. How do we get more people to use our AI malfeature? I have a smart idea: let's move the button 1/3 the way into the text field where you type a search term.

Das Kontextmenü in Windows 11 ist so bescheuert. Aufgeräumt, indem alles in eine weitere Unterebene verschoben wurde.
Ich bekomme es auch nicht weg (habe es mit einem Registry-Eintrag versucht).
Jetzt muss ich immer zweimal klicken (und noch zwischendurch auf das richtige Untermenü zielen).

was beim notfallalarm am android extrem nervt: das handy macht lärm und der ganze bildschirm blinkt rot/weiß.
soweit, so gut, ich werde aufmerksam.
wenn ich jetzt aber "OK" drücke, ist die meldung fort. ich brauch eine möglichkeit, stummzuschalten und das blinken zu beenden, daß ich die meldung in ruhe lesen kann. sie ist ja auch, wenn ich sie aus den "bisherigen benachrichtigungen" tief unten im einstellungsmenü ausgrabe, wieder blinkend und damit sehr schwer lesbar.

Quizfrage: Welche Schaltfläche ist gerade ausgewählt?
Kommt aktuell auf meinem TV. Ich würde gern ablehnen, weiß aber nicht, welche Schaltfläche aktiv ist. Ich könnte es drauf ankommen lassen - mit einer 50%-Chance, daß ich dann in allen Sendern einzeln die Zustimmung wieder rausnehmen muß, wenn ich unwillentlich zugestimmt habe.
Für mich ein #UIfail
(auch wegen der kleinen Schriftgröße und der für die Textmenge zu kurzen Anzeigezeit - nach einer Weile ist der Dialog weg)
