Dear browser vendors,
If a website marks a link as `target="_blank"` so that following it will open in a new tab/window, kindly replace the appropriate context menu option for "Open in New Tab/Window" with "Open in This Tab/Window" please.
Either that, or give me a way to make `target="blank"` a no-op. If I want to open a link in a new tab I'm perfectly capable of doing that myself, but sometimes I want to open a link in *this* tab.
kthxbye

#uifail I’m not sure what you app is asking me about, #VirginAtlantic, but I think it’s safe to say there is room for improvement

#uifail peeve of the day
Location: #Youtube website homepage on mobile, logged out, no cookies, and no history. There is a logo, a search bar, and a request to turn history back on.
You select the search bar.
On desktop, you now get to type into the search bar.
On mobile, the page rearranges itself. The search bar moves, or maybe is deleted and recreated in a different place. The result is that the search bar is deselected. You have to select it *again* to type in your search terms 🙄
😡

Dear "daily game" website devs,
Please provide a way to load today's game.
Having to press "reload" on the browser tab to clear yesterday's results and play today's game feels weird. If you don't have any more space in the UI, just reload the page yourself any time after, say, 4am.
Celltower: button - doing it right.
Gisnep, Glyph: auto-reload - fine, whatever.
Murdle, Wordle, Strands: sometimes auto-reload, but sometimes not, who can tell? - do better.kthxbye

This is the second example in the "getting started" section of Microsoft's official Power BI training.
Incoherent as usual. Why would I expect anything else.
And no, it's not affected by the size of the window or anything like that, it's just a mess.

„Schatz, sag’ mir doch, was ich falsch gemacht habe …“ – „Ja, wenn Du das selbst nicht weißt!“

WTF #KLM #airline what is wrong with you?
Like other airlines, they require your passport number pre #checkin .
But you can't type it in anymore. The ONLY option is, to SCAN the real passport with your webcam or a smartphone. No option to upload an image or just type in the information.
And apparently don't even need the image/video, they just use it to extract the passport number.
Which I could have copy/pasted in, saving me a ton of time.

Look how sleek and elegant the UI was in the day of the iPod. Simple, relatable, not a shitty bunch of visual assets blocking the sense of order and searchability. How I miss it.... https://www.tuaw.com/2026/02/25/gen-z-revives-ipods-as-smartphone-fatigue-grows/ #UIfail #Apple #UXfail #ipodgreatdesign

Android UI Deceptive Design Pattern Department: A few weeks ago, we crammed an AI button into the Search bar widget. But, nobody used it, even when we tricked people into tapping the button accidentally if the corner of their phone pressed on the base of their thumb. How do we get more people to use our AI malfeature? I have a smart idea: let's move the button 1/3 the way into the text field where you type a search term.

It is always hard to believe that #Microsoft #Outlook can still get worse, but they never fail to find new ways to degrade performance and interface!
