I cannot find a milligram of sympathy for Piers Morgan having his account hacked and continuing to remain a total chaotic post mess for several hours, with Twitter barely doing anything to contain the damage.

Still, the fact that this happened to a 8.3 million follower prominent account is pretty indicative of the current state of Twitter and of the consequences of the platform having its security team gutted.
