  1. *If anyone can help me with this, I would sincerely appreciate it. I have no interest in discussing whether Windows 7 is supported or not. I know it's not, and I am choosing to use it. I have everything I need, except a Mastodon client, so right now, I am using 11. And no, I have no interest in Linux either.*
I normally use TweeseCake, but it doesn't work on Windows 7, and it's closed source, so there is no way of changing that. Apparently, there is a version of TWBlue that did, but I can't find it. I just tried a client called Fast SM, and it's wonderful. However, it doesn't work on 7 either. Judging by the Github page, it seems to be written in Python. I am not a programmer, but would it be possible to get modern TwBlue or Fast SM to work with Windows 7? Both of these are open source. If not, then does anyone have the old version of TWBlue?

Finally, it seems that, unlike TweeseCake, the others have some sort of retrieval limit. If, for example, I'm not on Mastodon for a day or two and have 400 notifications, TweeseCake shows all of them. But the others only show a certain number far below that. Why is this, and can it be changed?

As a side note, I tried Whalebird and it was an absolute disaster with NVDA.

  2. *Please only add me if you're over twenty-one.
Since the Bio field has such a short character limit, consider this to be my profile/biography.
I don't write about American politics, race, anticapitalism, world affairs (wars, poverty, oppression, etc.), loneliness, bad self-esteem, or anxiety/depression, and will not add those who do so often. The same is true of those who feel it necessary to use obscenities. I am not a modern programmer or gamer, I do not use Linux, and I don't care what social network you use.*

Hello. For the sake of honesty, Georgiana Brummell is not my legal name, but it is what I use. I live in New Jersey and am forty-two years old. Some of my interests include studying dandyism, nineteenth-century English grammar, Upper Received Pronunciation, the Italian language, British history, the Regency, opera, and MS-DOS. I like coffee, tea, wine, cooking, reading, watching nature and historical documentaries, gardening, hot weather, and playing cards and dice. I love opera, particularly singers from the 1940-s and earlier, classical music, from Baroque through early Romantic, and popular music from the 1950's through the 1970's, along with some acoustic recordings. I prefer antique menswear and accessories. I love wit, wordplay, and dry humour without vulgarity. I am happily childfree, am not religious, speak my mind and am against political correctness. I also love cats. I have been totally blind since I was two months old, due to Retinopathy of Prematurity.

This is my journal. Anyone can read or comment, whether or not he is a member.

This is my dating post on Mastodon, which is shorter than the one on Dreamwidth. It's somewhat similar to this one, but it contains an explanation of what I am seeking in a partner. If you are or know a genuine dandy, or at least, an intelligent, single, childfree man over sixty, please read the link below and/or pass it on to him.

  3. After a bit of research, I learned that TWBlue is open source, and that, while the current version is only for 64-bit machines, there is a 32-bit version. There is also a 32-bit version specifically designed to work with Windows 7. Whether that's the same as the regular one, I don't know, but it does exist. However, since it has some extremely important features that TWBlue lacks, such as editing posts and profiles, etc. I prefer TweeseCake. However, it seems that there is only a 64-bit version. Am I wrong? Is it closed source? I would love to be able to work strictly from my Windows XP or 7 virtual machines, but this is the one program I must use in 11, and I ultimately find myself using 11 for everything, which I don't wish to do. I don't know of any other truly accessible clients for Friendica, other than these two.
