***Attention!***
To all of my friends here. I realise I have not deleted this account. I have also seen several people follow me here recently. Please be aware that I now almost exclusively post at Mastodon, on someplace.socialat Dreamwidth (not part of the Fediverse)
and at Reddit (not part of the Fediverse, creator/administrator of the Old Opera, and Blind and Fine subreddits)
You can also find me on Escargot Chat (MsN Messenger) at [email protected].
I'm sorry if this has confused anyone. I do/did enjoy Friendica and Akkoma, and they do work with Tweesecake and TWBlue, respectively, , but the main sites have accessibility issues. I am adding certain tags that don't belong here, but this is how many people found me, so please forgive my taking the liberty of adding them. I just want people to be able to find me at the right place.

I'm back online with #TWBlue for now. #accessibility

I just heard from the developer that it is not possible to make FastSM compatible with Windows 7. This leaves TWBlue, unless there is another client I'm missing. I know that TWBlue does have an older version that works with 7, so I'm guessing it's just a matter of updating certain things to give it the features of the latest version. Sadly, as I said in the past, TweeseCake is not open source, so that's not an option. As for why I don't do it myself, I am not a programmer.

*If anyone can help me with this, I would sincerely appreciate it. I have no interest in discussing whether Windows 7 is supported or not. I know it's not, and I am choosing to use it. I have everything I need, except a Mastodon client, so right now, I am using 11. And no, I have no interest in Linux either.*
I normally use TweeseCake, but it doesn't work on Windows 7, and it's closed source, so there is no way of changing that. Apparently, there is a version of TWBlue that did, but I can't find it. I just tried a client called Fast SM, and it's wonderful. However, it doesn't work on 7 either. Judging by the Github page, it seems to be written in Python. I am not a programmer, but would it be possible to get modern TwBlue or Fast SM to work with Windows 7? Both of these are open source. If not, then does anyone have the old version of TWBlue? Finally, it seems that, unlike TweeseCake, the others have some sort of retrieval limit. If, for example, I'm not on Mastodon for a day or two and have 400 notifications, TweeseCake shows all of them. But the others only show a certain number far below that. Why is this, and can it be changed?
As a side note, I tried Whalebird and it was an absolute disaster with NVDA.

Anyone know how to vote in polls with #TWBlue? I can't figure it out.
-
I want to view my timeline without all of the nonsense that I worked so hard to filter out. TweeseCake does not respect my filters but TWBlue does. However, every time I try to start it, it says that it quit unexpectedly and it won't start. I then have to close it from the task manager. Despite appearing to be portable, it's not, and some information is stored on my machine. But I can't figure out where so that I can delete it and try to start the program again. Can anyone please help me or suggest a better accessible Windows client for Mastodon? I really hate this, since TweeseCake allows for editing of posts, but I don't want to see these things in my timeline.

Who can I go to with questions about #TWBlue? I can't figure out how to find people.

One of the things that, one of the things that, one of the things that really annoys me with TweeseCake is that, whenever there's a new post, and I am trying to read something, it starts from the beginning, as I did here, instead of just making the sound to indicate a new post. There seems to be no way to stop it. It's fine when my timeline is fairly quiet, but when it gets very busy, I have to keep stopping, copy the post I'm trying to read, then paste it into Notepad so that I can read it without interruption. I really hope this issue is resolved in the next version. This is why, sometimes, I switch to TWBlue, eventhough it lacks some features, like the all-important one of being able to edit my posts. Not to mention that I can never get the updated version to work.

Does anyone know what is happening with TWBlue? Every time I try to update it, it doesn't work. The old version works correctly. I just deleted it from my spare computer and downloaded the portable version, which is what I normally use. I ran it and told it to update. I authorised my account, but when I started it, it asked about donations, then quit. When I tried it on my primary computer, it kept saying that there was an error, to the point that I just deleted it and restored the old version. Is anyone else having this problem? While we're on the subject of accessible Fediverse clients, does anyone know if TweeseCake is receiving an update soon? It still doesn't work with Akkoma, though it does work with Friendica. I have no idea why.

I just wrote a huge entry about the Fediverse here. It is a guide with all sorts of tips and explanations, and links to many useful pages. Please feel free to share it with anyone who may be interested in joining. Note, though, that I am not the type to care if you're on a mainstream platform or not. Thi sis just meant as a guide for those who may need it, not as a way of bashing those who use non-Fediverse platforms. As a side note, Dreamwidth is one of my favourite sites on the Internet, precisely because of its wonderful accessibility.

Hey all, the is the first post I'm making in #TWBlue! For those looking for a good #Mastodon Client on windows that's fully #Accessible, this is it!

I am posting this to both my usual blob.cat account and my Friendica one, in the hopes that someone can help me. It seems that the new version of TWBlue isn't working for me at all. Every time I start it, it says that the program quit unexpectedly the last time it was run, and that if the problem persists, I should report it to the TWBlue developers. I tried it on two different computers with the same result. Fortunately, the last version still works perfectly. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what can I do to resolve this issue?

Por cierto, gracias a #TWBlue por corregir el error que impedía visualizar los tuts con caracteres utf-8. No viene en los cambios de la nueva versión y, para mi, es la mejora más importante.

Well dang it, I just looked, and the max you can put in the API calls is 40. I guesss we can't have everything. #TWBlue

Does anyone know if #TWBlue is any better than #Tweesecake about constantly reading the current toot fresh *every* *time* a toot comes in? And/or if TWBlue's gotten any better about polls?
