Do I consider myself to be an organized person?I'm *mostly* organized.
My computer (laptop) is impeccable--I've got 30 years of files, images, documents, etc and I can find things no problem.
My writing & editing tools are organized, my library is mostly shelved, my books are in a database.
Everything else is in piles. Nice neat piles, but piles nonetheless. Not enough space or time to put things away ... or too much stuff.

How much is too much gear? How many cameras is too many to be lugging around agricultural fields? How many small bags and straps can I fit around my neck? How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie roll pop? The world may never know.

While I love having all the parts to connect to just about anything -- I think it's probably time to give this beauty up.
Turns out I have at least 5 of these, and a dozen 9 pin serial cables, many many 15 pin VGA cables, etc. Going to keep a very small number of old cables "just in case" and get rid of the rest.

Packing all weekend for a cross-country move:
"Whew, almost done with this room. Just need to go through that cabinet, my desk drawers, and what's on those shelves."
<A few hours later.>
"Alright. I'm done with this room. Wait... crap... I always forget about the drawers under the built-in."
<Many hours later>
"I'm done, right? This room is done? Everything is packed?"
<Opens closet. Dies.>
Only a mild exaggeration. Packing always takes longer than I expect.
