The more I think about problems in the world, and how folks shout that “common sense isn’t common anymore,” the more I realize that we live in a society where we don’t accept that humans are—and probably in higher numbers than you’d like—really fucking stupid sometimes.

And ironically, I think we would make better decisions and solutions if we collectively realized that.

Love dark themes, easier on the eyes, power-savings on phone, etc...
So I painted an area behind my tv matt-black and the best small quantity of that, which I could find, was chalkboard paint.
I grew up with chalkboards, holders of pictures, equations, poems and so much more and pondered on what a great invention they were/are -
you create something on it and with the wipe of a wet sponge erase it all and start anew until you arrive at an adequate/brilliant outcome that you'll leave alone for a while to take in or admire.
A bit like our lives.
We forget, at times, that we can clean our slate and start again.

Reading up on integrating cloud-based LLMs to #KaliLinux and I am not quite sure who would sign this off for actual security assessment work. I can't see any client agreeing to potentially leaking information to Anthropic or other online LLMs. Also, the risk of actually doing damaging actions on a vulnerable system is way too high.

As the usefulness of any online AI integration is quite limited for actual project work, what could it be used for? For training, maybe?

Or maybe it is intended for some AI believers who don't see any risk associated with sending sensitive information to random cloud services?

It would be possible to run a fully local model, of course, but that is far more limited in quality and capability than online ones. It would also still retain the risks of exploiting vulnerabilities in a damaging way.

I, for one, am not signing up to vibehacking.

Most are comfortable with that idea, as long as we're catching a killer or sexual predator. But the legal frameworks that control the law enforcement access to these database are not fixed and the laws governing the access can change. Let's image that our ability to identify certain criminal tendencies from genome gets to the point we can identify potential predators or future killers even before they potentially commit these acts. It might be difficult to argue against employing such capability to pre-emptively stop crime. Going this path is an insanely slippery slope, and unfortunately much of it is out of our control anyway. So many people have already deposited their genetic material to these databases that regardless how you personally feel about it, we're all already in the databases via our relatives. Since the laws will be enacted by politicians voted to the office by the majority, individual objections will carry little weight. To make matters worse this is a highly complicated topic which is easy to twist by using populist catchphrases.
