It's been a few years, but from what I recall, the Kerry Swiftboat kinda worked because Kerry's team didn't think anyone would pay attention to nonsense, didn't bother to refute the falsehoods.

Vance enlisted in the Marines, leaving as an Corporal (E-4) after 4 years, honorably.

As a Vet, I thank them both for their service.

The ONLY reason #Republicans are pushing the "Biden is too old" and suggesting he has #dementia memes is to distract from the fact their OWN candidate is only 3-1/2 years younger, is DEFINITELY showing signs of dementia, plus has 91 felony convictions INCLUDING trying to overthrow the government via encouraging a violent mob to attack The Capitol.

Same reason #AWOLBush supporters #Swiftboat'ed War Hero John Kerry in '04.

I think a lot about the way #Republicans run elections, picking at threads until they turn them into giant controversies that #Democrats spend all their time defending (drawing attention away from their OWN worse offenses.)

Bronze Star recipient John Kerry was #Swiftboat'ed to distract from #AWOLBush. #NewtGingrich investigated Bill Clinton's affairs while HE HIMSELF was having an affair.

The #GOP was always the "Pro-military" party. (Remember the *disgust* they had for "draft dodger" Bill Clinton?)

Then, they elected a draft dodger in 2000, "#SwiftBoat'ed John #Kerry (winner of the Bronze Star for bravery) to re-elect Bush in 2004, went BACK to being pro-military by nominating war hero John #McCain in 2008, nominated *another* draft dodger (Mitt Romney) in 2012, and then #CaptainBoneSpurs (who ridiculed McCain) in 2016.
