Making a cucumber walnut and cinnamon loaf for something different, mostly to get rid of a cucumber.
No idea how this will go but I figure it can't be and worse than zucchini bread.
I based it on banana bread, but stepped up the sugar and used maple instead of corn syrup.

On my feet all afternoon. I'm grabbing a tea and having a seat now.
Made a pie to redeem my not-so-attractive (yet quite tasty) pie from last weekend. Also got some generic sourdough bread loaves rising, plus some baguettes for a cheese-centric supper. Baking those shortly.

One of those chain of events things…
I had a poppyseed bagel yesterday at breakfast. A single poppyseed survived until I brushed my teeth that evening.
With that observation I must, of course, make a lemon-poppyseed cake today.

A bit of a cooking afternoon today. I bought some marzipan for Xmas baking use last year, but never got around to using it
The package says "use within a year of purchase," so the clock has been ticking. Being the end of apple season, I've decided to builtld an apple & marzipan #galette. That's baking now.
Hope it's successful, I've still got half that marzipan. Might try some choco-marzi cookies someday soon too.

On Sleep Deprived Sunday (seriously, why do we have to keep fiddling with the time?) I decided to play with knives. No incidents, but there are a couple of trays full of Uzbek samsa (I'll share the recipe on my Substack this week).
