  9. Strained and clarified the chicken stock I made last night. Rufus decided he needed to be in the pic.

    Edit to add: The stock was made with some freezer burnt thighs I excavated. So ,in the spirit of waste-not-want-not, I turned it into that golden stock, along with a few chicken backs, carrot, onion, celery, bell peppers, tomatoes, parsley and coriander. It's now my favourite chicken stock combination.

  11. While at a local independent grocer, they announced chicken legs at half price when I was right next to them! I took it as a sign .

    Scratch-made chicken stock is currently blipping way on the hob. tomorrow, it (and the chicken) will be turned into tamales.

  12. The annual egg nog bread pudding (like the Newfoundland Fries, it's a way to use up leftovers)

    Added an egg and milk to the eggnog that wasn't finished before its BB date. This year, it's the challah that started to stale (last year, it was croissants, I think). Added cranberries and small spoons of orange marmalade. Num.
