    c1625 CE #IndianMiniaturePainting from #Bijapur #Deccan #India now at Metropolitan #Museum of #Art (The MET).

    This Holy Man is identified as a Sufi on account of his long-sleeved 'khirqa' cloak & Turban.

    The Sufis spent over 40 days in a year in isolation and wilderness (khalwa) to facilitate distraction-free meditation.
