c1630 CE #Mughal #Art by Goverdhan, son of artist Bhawani Das & active 1596-1645 in ateliers of #Akbar, #Jahangir & #ShahJahan at #Agra & #AllahabadBorders were added in 1764 by Safavid artist Muhammad Baqir.
Later, this folio formed part of a #Qajar Album but got dispersed at a #Paris sale in 1982.

Inscribed 'We & Majnun were fellow travellers in the pain of madness'

This #art is from 'Ardeshir Album' which contained many paintings from reign of #ShahJahan (1628-58) was probably assembled during the reign of #mughal ruler Mohammad Shah 'Rangila' & was dispersed in auction in the early 1970s.

As I have my Breakfast in a set of ordinary 'Luminarc' crockery, I can only envy #NurJahan wife of #Mughal ruler #ShahJahan who used to have her meals in the most exquisite crockery and cutlery of her time.
Like this c1600 AD 'Plate' sold by Sotheby's.
The edges have a floral design made of Gold Thread, Rubies, Emeralds and Green Glass inlay.
