One of the perks of hanging around a fire in the yard at night is seeing the local wildlife. Years ago there was actually a whole family of skunks under my deck, a mother and like eight or nine babies. I only saw them once, then they left.
This one was poking around behind me at first, in the fenced-in pool area. He saw me and ran off around the perimeter of the yard, then past me and to the street. He didn't seem too afraid (rightfully so), but kept his distance.

Met a skunk at our local village fayre today 🦨 didn't realise they have such long claws! She had a very sweet face though and definitely fancied some mealworms 😁 x x

So in other wildlife news, I went to take out the garbage, and it turns out one of the neighborhood #skunks is back to visit.
He was poking around the yard, and then went over to a hole that I think a woodchuck dug. I've seen skunks go down those holes before, I think it's a duplex or something.
