Overview The City of Hohenwald is a city in and the county seat of Lewis County, Tennessee, along the Route 412 corridor at Routes 48 and 99. Today, the area is associated with the location of the death of Meriwether Lewis and thus contains a Meriwether Lewis monument along Route 412 at the Natchez Trace Parkway further east.
